“Courage starts with showing up and letting ourselves be seen”

My name is Bea. I support actors, performers and creatives to lead happier lives. I’m also a yogi, wild swimmer, theatre and nature lover and a crafty upcycler!

My training

I am a Certified Professional Co-Active® Coach (CPCC) trained by the internationally acclaimed Co-Active® Training Institute (CTI). The Co-Active® Coach Training Pathway is considered the most rigorous, ICF-accredited programme available for professional coaching development. I am also a mindfulness and meditation trainer and a mental fitness performance coach. In 2022 I completed my 200-hour yoga teacher training on the island of self-love, healing and fresh coconuts, the Island of the Gods (also known as Bali!) and I like to weave some of this Bali healing energy into my work.

My coaching is unique in that it combines ancient yogic philosophy and knowledge from the East, with the latest evidence-based neuroscience from the West, all designed to support you to grow your mental and emotional resilience, as well as your ability to perform under pressure.

My story

In Spring 2017 I hit rock bottom. I was working for an advertising agency in London and I was burnt out, anxious and unhappy. I knew I needed to change my life but I didn’t know how. I left my job, hired a coach and embarked on the journey that has brought me to where I am today.

Whilst I was unemployed I realised that I had been unfulfilled and unhappy for most of my professional life. The most frightening thing was how much I had normalised this unhappiness as ‘work-related stress’ at best and at worst an inevitable outcome of my own inability to cope with the responsibilities of the roles I had been employed to do.

From that point on I realised that I wanted to create a life that would be as full an expression of my true self as possible; and now I help others to do the same.

What guided me was exploring, and eventually finding the work I needed to thrive as a human being. I am passionate about the importance of thriving in the work we do because:

  • Life is short and therefore precious

  • It is not ok to dread going into work every day

  • You can get paid to do something you love (yes, really!)

Today, alongside being the founder of the Wellbeing Series - a wellbeing programme for performer members at Spotlight (Europe’s leading casting platform), I run my own coaching practice. I specialise in empowering and supporting actors, performers and creatives to live authentic, balanced and fulfilling lives. My work has a specific focus on making time to pause and reflect, prioritising what matters most, and leading with compassion towards ourselves and others. One of the things I love most about what I do is creating opportunities for actors and performers to come together and support each other. When we lead from our hearts, we make others feel seen and heard, and this in turn helps us to tap into our full power. We really do rise by lifting others.

Prior to becoming a coach I marketed London and Nottingham’s theatre and arts scenes for 12 years working with companies including Almeida Theatre, National Theatre, Sonia Friedman Productions, Ambassadors Theatre Group, Polka Theatre, Nottingham Playhouse, British Museum and Wellcome Collection. My long-term partner is an actor so I know this industry and I have personal experience of the daily challenges that it throws at you. This industry is TOUGH. I get it. But it’s also unique and exciting and full of people like you…
